2020 has been a memorable year, and one we’re not about to forget anytime soon. Despite the tough times and uncertainties of living through a global pandemic, we also witnessed a lot of good in the world. In 2020, we saw our communities rally together in support of local businesses like ours, for which we are so grateful to you for. We also noticed, with more time spent at home, our customers taking the time to focus on self-care by creating their own DIY spa experiences. As a company, we also had the opportunity to give back and show our support to front line workers with a hand sanitizer charity campaign.  

As we reflect on our milestones of the past year, we want to thank each and every one of you for your continued support of natural skincare and your openness to experiencing the power of Canadian glacial clay.  Without further ado, here’s our NENA Skincare highlight reel of 2020. NENA at the Wellness Show

In January, the NENA team was at the Wellness Show at Vancouver Convention Centre.  

We loved meeting our NENA fans in real life and educating through product demonstrations, and can’t wait to be able to do so again in the future. In 2021, we will be doing this again in the virutal, at home version of The Wellness Show -- registration is now open and it's 100% FREE to attend!

NENA launched at Safeway 

In February, Safeway in Vancouver (Broadway and Macdonal location) launched their Rachelle-Béry natural beauty and wellness section, and NENA was one of the first brands selected for this pilot program. We are excited to see mainstream retailers offering a spot on their shelves for natural beauty and skincare brands.

NENA introduces limited-edition Sheet Masks

In March, we introduced two Sheet Masks products to the NENA skincare family. Packed with the natural benefits of glacial oceanic mineral water, these one-time use masks help instantly moisturize and rejuvenate your skin. As these are limited-edition products only, they are only available as a gift with purchase, and will continue to be in the new year.

NENA launches hand sanitizer products in the fight against COVID-19 

In March, when the COVID-19 pandemic started in Canada, we saw our community pool together their resources to support frontline workers and others in need. Our weapon of choice? At NENA, we fight with clean hands, so we began producing two styles of Hand Sanitizer products in a gel and spray format. We committed to matching every purchase of our Hand Sanitizer with a donation to frontline workers and other organizations supporting our society’s most vulnerable. 

NENA launches “Hand in Hand” charity campaign in support of frontline workers

In April, The team at NENA Skincare did a drop off of over 2,500 units of our Hydrating Hand Sanitizer to our charity partners at: St Paul’s Hospital, BC Women’s Hospital, and Atira Women’s Resource Society.

Among other outlets, our efforts were acknowledged by The Vancouver Sun and BC Living.

 

NENA is a Made in Vancouver Awards finalist

The Made in Vancouver Awards are hosted by Vancouver Magazine, and bring attention to products made in Vancouver. In June, NENA Skincare was listed as a finalist in the Beauty category.

 

NENA appears in the Simply Beautiful Box

In the summer, our Cleansing Cream was included in BC Living’s Simply Beautiful Box, a curated assortment of surprise lifestyle products sent to subscribers across Canada. This is not our first appearance in a subscription box. Back in 2018, we were also listed in TopBox.

 

NENA is listed as top travel hand sanitizer by Bold Magazine 

In September, our NENA Spray Hand Sanitizer was ranked the top travel hand sanitizer by Bold Magazine.

NENA launches new glacial-focused packaging  

In October, our product packaging got a facelift! Printed on recycled paper with eco-friendly vegetable oil ink, the new boxes of our four skincare products come together to form a pristine mountain range, where the glacial oceanic clay harvested for NENA Skincare products started forming over 2.5 millions years ago.

What a year for NENA!

This year was unlike any other we have experienced, but we made it through because of YOU. All of us here at NENA are very grateful for your support. May 2021 be much better and kinder to all of us. From our family to yours, have a safe and happy holidays!
